Our Process
Anyone can say they are a Marine Surveyor and deep down have little or no experience. Alaska Survey Associates L.L.C. founder has over 36 years in the maritime business. Captain Terminel has worked in most maritime industries around the globe. With this he has been exposed to just about every type of survey and audit.

Our Process Captain Terminel's experience is well documented. He has helped with the design stages of several new builds that were built and are in use today that cost over $200 million U.S dollars for demanding customers in a very competitive global market.

Understanding developing regulatory concepts and designs, while keeping up with changing regulatory matters on older vessels requires an in-depth knowledge and working relationship with the local and sometimes foreign Coast Guard Marine Safety Offices. Captain Terminel has worked on 6 continents for multiple regulatory bodies to include the USCG MSO (in Singapore, Hawaii, Florida, Washington, Alaska, Alabama, Texas and Mississippi) and Classification Societies to include MCA, ABS and DNV. He has also had to navigate with foreign countries port state control audits, surveys and inspections including Panama, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Nigeria, Angola, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Canada, United Kingdom, Scotland and Norway.

If you have a problem or are doing specific modifications that change a vessel, you may require regulatory compliance and approval by your local MSO. Regulatory matters in most cases can be resolved with minimal effort. However, when dealing with your local USCG Marine Safety Office, presenting your case with the facts as they want to see them can sometimes be challenging. Understanding what the MSO wants to see takes experience and years of an intimate working relationship. This requires having the knowledge necessary in getting your case presented. Wasting their time with an unjustified or unprepared case does not work in your favor. Alaska Survey Associates L.L.C. has the experience and the background to work with the MSO in resolving and approving your modifications.

Our method of tracking work modifications, using proper approved materials in conjunction with qualified and certified workers are essential in this process.

Alaska Survey Associates L.L.C. has developed through years of experience a specialized unique computer program custom made to assure that all aspects of your modifications and survey are covered. Every bit of information is covered and the surveyor does not leave until all equipment has been surveyed and accessed. The program will not let it proceed unless the information is processed. Alaska Survey Associates L.L.C. has developed this program utilizing 36 years of experience of operating vessels, conducting surveys and audits around the world. Alaska Survey Associates L.L.C. has an independent IT department to establish a flawless execution of your modifications and survey data. It utilizes a secure program that allows quick and secure data processing of your information in its secure network.
